A Short Film: Cassava Republic's Bibi Bakare-Yusuf On The Importance Of Culture And Imagination

With those potent words publisher and Yale World Fellow Bibi Bakare-Yusuf, who (in partnership with with Jeremy Weate) founded and manages Abuja-based publishing house Cassava Republic, launches into her discourse on the importance of culture and imagination to Africa in this short film by Australian filmmaker Jolyon Hoff.
 
Bakare-Yusuf's narrative is interwoven with footage from across Nigeria, including readings of books written by a few of the more successful authors on Cassava Republic's roster.
